Shelter renaissance

Date

Renaissance is the theme of the new Shelter collection that you will be able to discover exclusively throughout the month of December at the Maison des Créateurs

Summer 2013, in Annecy, 5 friends lay the foundation stone of what will become the Shelter brand. Their ambition: create a brand of wooden glasses that is creative, manufactured in France and eco-responsible.

From the beginning, Shelter worked hand in hand with Marotte, a company based in the Jura specialized in high-end wood veneers. Its know-how and the richness of its collection of essences make it possible to bring to each frame a singular beauty and an exceptional quality.

10 years later, Shelter is established as a reference in terms of creation wooden bezel. Sharper, more technological, more contemporary, the Renaissance collection is a nod to the sixteenth century and its great scientific and artistic advances.

At the origin of this Renaissance collection? A crazy bet : that of reinventing the wooden bezel to make it a highly desirable object.

Goodbye thick, heavy and classic frames! Give way to the new generation of high-end frames: at the forefront of trends, elegant, racy, light. This new collection is a good step forward and a real renewal for the Shelter brand in terms of design and technicality. Wood, both raw and timeless, is at the heart of the collection, but combines and comes with new sophisticated materials such as steel.

The exclusive Smartwood patent developed by Shelter brings to the collection a great technological innovation: that of a flexible wood with shape memory, which allows a great lightness, a real resistance and especially the easy mounting of the glasses.
